For treatment centers and referral partners
Karen Vitale provides confidential recovery coaching and aftercare that therapists, treatment centers, and clinicians can refer clients to. Partners refer for two reasons: as an aftercare coach for clients leaving treatment, and as a private alternative for clients who cannot or will not do residential treatment. In both cases the work is one-to-one and discreet, built around the client's real life. Karen is a credentialed addiction professional with more than thirty years of personal sobriety, and referrals are handled directly with her, with the client's consent at the center.
Two reasons to refer
Partners refer to Karen in two situations.
The first is aftercare. When a client is leaving a treatment program, Karen is the steady, one-to-one relationship that helps a discharge plan hold once they are home, carrying structure and accountability back into daily life.
The second is an alternative to residential treatment. For clients who cannot step away for thirty to ninety days, or will not, Karen offers a private way to get sober while staying in their career and family. You can read more on the alternative to rehab page.

Discretion and consent
Discretion is the starting point. Clients are contacted privately, never through a channel that could expose them. Share only what your client has consented to share, and Karen takes it from there.
Nothing about the client is discussed with anyone beyond what consent allows. For partners whose own reputation rests on trust, that matters as much as it does to the client.
Common questions
How does a referral work?
Contact Karen directly by email or phone, share your client's preferred contact method and any context they have consented to share, and Karen follows up privately to discuss fit, timing, and support needs. There is no portal and no paperwork chain, just a direct, confidential conversation.
What happens after I refer someone?
Karen reaches out to the client privately, at a pace that respects where they are. She determines fit through a confidential consultation, and the client decides whether to begin. With the client's consent, Karen can confirm to you that contact has been made.
How is my client's privacy protected?
Clients are contacted privately, and Karen works only from what the client has consented to share. Nothing is discussed beyond what consent allows. Karen is a recovery coach rather than a covered medical provider, so this is a commitment of discretion rather than a clinical privacy law, and it is central to how she works.
